Made the 220 miles in the sun to cloudy wales but seem to have lost my rear numberplate on route.
As I haven't got my v5 I'm unable to get another made for my return trip tomorrow, has anyone travelling up tomorrow got :-

Any rear number plate
Paper
Black marker pen
Tape

So I can make something up to help me get back legally

Do demon not do plates.

Tell them just a show plate. No v5 required?

I think you did a great job so no need to bother getting an actual replacement.

Just had to cut through the original 06 double sided tape with a flexible steak knife. I needed to take the rear off just to clean up and check round. I used double sided tape to fix back on but not knowing the tapes quality I used 2 self tapers as a back up.  12-15mm max long is enough to get through plate, tape and back plate and without coming up against the structure behind.
I had a land cruiser plate fall off in France. Just parked up fortunately so did not lose the plate. I had to drill 2 holes to line up with the captive nuts in the tailgate which they should have used. Took me 1 1/2 hours to drill through with a screw driver!!

Brilliant! I knew it was you.

Park with those exhausts close to the wall in the garage just in case I pop back to Cardiff one day this week
