Hi everyone,

I'm trying to get new banjo bolts for my 03 callipers.

I can see a few for sale online but they are crazy money.

Does anyone know where they are available at a decent price.

Or, do we know what size bolt/ thread size they need to be and I will find them

Thanks for any help you can offer

Banjo bolts are so specific.  Not just thread pitch and diameter, thread length and plain section all have to be spot-on.

I think that's why they are not simple to find.

Out of interest, I just did a search as well, and they are only coming up as parts from specialists and are, as you say, expensive.

I even tried searching for bolts from other Toyotas that use the same calipers.

Out of interest and to help others, can you post a link where you CAN get them?

Might be worth asking Simon Sinclair @bigbear007 as he has a caliper refurbishment business, I'm not sure if he sells banjos individually but might be able to help. I replaced mine last year but can't for the life of me remember where I got mine, I'll keep looking in the meantime.

Banjos are m10 x 1.0. I bought a pack of 4 stainless ones last year. Can't remember length off top of my head so will dig out a link when I get chance.

Ok, define "expensive"? I got mine from MR2 Ben for £35 the set of four, plus around £4.0 postage but I had other items in the same order.
He's still listing them for the same price just bear in mind you're going to want fresh copper washers to go with them.
Interestingly they're the same bolt across all 3 marks, whether searching for them against a mk2, for example, will yield different results elsewhere I've not tried.

I'm not about to re-do my search BUT I did see some for a Mark 2 and they were a bit cheaper than that.

I wouldn't be at all surprised, MR2 Ben is usually at the top end as far as pricing goes but he was the best option for me at the time. I got some new slider pins and seals etc at the same time and the total package, including postage costs, came out to pretty much the same price as splitting between two different suppliers.

And he could get them to me in the required timeframe which was the main decider, at the time.
There were some kits on Fleabay cheaper but they had longish lead times, probably on a slow boat from China.

thanks for all the quick responses,

for me £7.50 per bolt + shipping seems pretty expensive. I'm sure if we had the bolt details we could find all 4 for that sort of price give or take.

I've forked out this time around but would be handy for anyone else that wants to save some money in future

If you've not yet had to replace some of the other main nuts and bolts you'll soon realise that a lot of them are eye wateringly expensive due to the exclusive use of most of them.
Wait until you start wanting to replace suspension/geometry nuts and bolts like for like...

I was going to link those as well but contrary to what MR2 Ben says, this seller or at least Fleabay says they won't fit a roadster. So I thought I'd err on the side of caution on my part.

I'll soon have the copper coated Banjo bolts (like the OE ones) on my website just waiting for them to be made a shipped probably have them in by the summer on www.caliperrefurb.com

Just out of interest I also should have the Handbrake lever return springs in around the same time.
And I'm in the process of ordering the galvanised steel replacement bolts for the carriers and and calipers with the right size OE heads! They will be available as sets including the rear swing bolt for the slider pins and Handbrake plate bolt.

I know that other vendors sell the front bolts, but if it helps the removable rear slide pins aren't a bad price from Toyota (think they were about £2 each when I needed them a couple of years back).
