De-cat chamber removal.

Hi. When I bought my 2005 MR2 four years ago, I immediately de-catted it. I was disgusted with what came out and assumed the performance would be improved. It wasn't. I read that the chambers ruined the gas flow so no improvement could be expected. Does anyone know what would happen if the chambers were cut out and replaced with pipe of the same diameter as the rest of the exhaust? Shouldn't present a problem but would it be worth it?

What you'd end up with is a Toyosport manifold or the like  s:) :) s:)  Available on ebay for 90 to 120 quid. Or a lot more for the fancier ones.
But if you have the means to fabricate it yourself, by all means!

Meh. Marginally. Depending on where in the rev range. Possibly.

Could not agree more, the correct response for your first drive with a new header will be 'Meh'.
