Hi,

Has anybody actually used one on track over a number of track days to prove that it works effectively as a baffled sump? (although I appreciate it is actually a windage plate rather than a gated baffle).

A friend is converting to a 2zz and budget is a factor.

Thanks

Thanks, I know how it's done, I was more after if it has been proven to work by someone who has used it over a series of trackdays?

It looks like Jaworjawor hasn't had any issues since doing his. That's one tick in the 'positive comments' box  s:) :) s:)

Just a thought. I believe the 2zz has oil sprays to the underside of the pistons and the 1zz doesn't. Might the windage plate slow the return of that sprayed oil back into the sump too much, leading to the oil level in the sump falling?

Maybe that's why Toyota didn't put one in the 2zz?

I run modified 1zz pan in my 2zz, no problems at all. I also recommend lowering oil pickup on 2zz, more info here

Thanks I saw your thread and read with interest. Have you used the car on a number of occassions on a dry track and do you ever run semi-slicks (i.e. 888's, A048's etc)?

A chap on the Celica forum said that you can also swap the 1zz oil pick up instead of spacing the 2zz pick up. I need to compare them to see if they are the same.
