Hi
I'm back, 2015/2106 I got my self my first 2005 silver MR2 put a stupid powerflow quad pipe exhaust on it, sold it and then had a couple of fairly expensive Audi's, an old Healey Sprite mk4. I then realised how good the MR2 roadster really was, so October 2017 I was on the hunt for another one pursuaded by the boss (wife).
I had a chilli red Toyota Hilux, my wife has a Chilli red Yaris Hydrid so naturally only one colour for the MR2 roadster would suffice, yep chilli red of course.
I purchased a 2006 one family owner form new mother and son 40K miles, mechanically sweet, good hood, perfect interior all black cloth seats.
It was very cheap and I found out why, all the suspension units, control arms, bracings, anti roll bars and brake back plates were badly corroded/rotten but the floor pan etc were perfect.
Stage 1
Strip out all the bolt on bits and all suspension units, de rust, re-paint, new front coils, new back plates, new drilled and grooved discs, rear wheel bearings, aux belt, oil and filters, then shultz the whole underside.
Stage 2
Lots of stone chips on bonnet and one or two on most of the panels, the bumpers and door handles were a slightly different shade.
I asked a painter friend of mine to tidy it up a bit it was taken away for about 2 weeks, I kept asking where's my car, it turns out he passed it onto another painter then without my permission organised a full respray and made the comment " make sure its a good job money's no object to George"
When it was finally returned I had no idea what had happened and I was totally shocked it is the best paint job I have ever seen, so i forgave my friend he knows how fussy I am.
So I now have an absolutely mint roadster, fitting DRL fogs this weekend
Cheers
George

Welcome back.

They always need new suspension due to the age. I bet the drive has been transformed from when you first got it?
