So it has occurred to me that the way to have a fast high performance car is to basically achieve it without it looking like a high performance car.
If I were to weigh up the resistance to owning an MR2 from family members and in-laws vs something like an S4 it is ridiculous.

No one bats an eyelid at the S4 fuel consumption, the sound possible maintenance expenses etc... because it doesn't LOOK like a sports car.

This is WHY things like high powered German cars get bought so much because they have figured out that there is a key market of guys out there with wives who wouldn't countenance having a "sports car" but it's OK that he's got a really fast BMW or whatever, that cost a fortune to buy and run!
But say that same person were to buy a cheap little 2 seater convertible? Prepare for the 10 plagues my friend..

note - I do appreciate the horrific gender stereotyping here.. it's just my experience that's all!

This is the real deal, btw., not a "civilian" remake. :D

And a beautiful house in some lovely locale for my parents so they can enjoy their retirement.
