Sadly some of us have to work for a living in order to fund our car habits

I was thinking the same. I don't think it helps that people have a habit of hibernating these cars over winter....

I've just been mulling over the benefits/drawbacks of a full cage and bucket seats. But it seems a bit extreme just to stop the roof squeaking!

I'll probably be back on here about April.

Switched my car insurance to my Fabia 3 weeks ago, so my roadie is now on "ignore", as I turn my attention to sorting my trusty Skud (desperately needed new rear shocks just fitted, desperately needed handbrake cable just ordered) and my two (KTM  ) motorcycles (one needs a new head gasket at 6000 miles    ) other one needs a carb rebuild, not to mention building my new metal shed (garage overspill) to spread everything out a bit more and maybe get the 2 in the garage.......

As an ‘ ardent’ hibernationalist I must take exception to your over generalisation.
I suggest that those persons who choose to take enjoyment with their 2’s only in our sublime Spring, Summer and early Autumn weather are no less enthusiastic about their 2 ing than those that choose to also take enjoyment throughout the cooler, wetter months.
We have a second car, with a fixed roof, that serves us for the mundane journeys of life and provides ( better) protection against inclement weather. Our 2 was chosen for topless driving only, with the exception of my first Ding Day when it was thoroughly Baptised.
My joining of the MR2ROC was at first to glean specific knowledge about the foebles of the 2 but found the virtual friendliness to be to my liking and this was reinforced by my attendance at various meets.
I suggest it is best to regularly visit a rich uncle and share your life with him, rather than wait for the time you need a hand out.

And I had a hellish return journey from Dumfries to Salisbury in seriously strong winds and heavy rain, accidents on M6. Couldn't believe how many HGV''s were on the road, I swear there were many more of them than cars on the road last night. A really scary journey and after 10 hours I was pleased to get home. It would've been even worse if I'd been in Foxy what with the sheer spray and amount of water on the road and people were still driving like lunatics! Hardly surprising there are accidents! :(

Not sure whether the over generalisation you take exception to is mine, Joe Cool's or both, however I really don't see the need to take exception to it, as it is surely logical that if some people are not currently driving their 2, then they are both less likely to be thinking about it in general and certainly less likely to be having experiences or issues with it, so it logically follows that at least some of those people will find they have less reason on any given day to visit the forum.

Perhaps I should explain that what i found specifically amusing was that Joe Cool posted his comment 1 minute before mine, therefore I had not read it before I posted which gave me the sense of us both thinking the same thing at the same time.............. :)

I suggest that those persons who choose to take enjoyment with their 2’s only in our sublime Spring, Summer and early Autumn weather are no less enthusiastic about their 2 ing than those that choose to also take enjoyment throughout the cooler, wetter months.

I really don't see a link. Some of the biggest enthusiasts will drive their car loads all year round, whereas other similarly big enthusiasts will prefer to use their car much more sparingly.

I suggest it is best to regularly visit a rich uncle and share your life with him, rather than wait for the time you need a hand out.

I'm pretty sure all of the above was in jest. I severely doubt anybody on here is callous enough to take any of this to heart.
