I know I've had it for over 6 months, but what do people use to clean their Swansea roof from Jack Smith's? I'm not really sure what it's made of to choose a cleaner, fake mohair fabric?!

Got pink sheen and the old vinyl / bumper gel, but guess these are now of no use? Need to clean the car for this weekend  8)

Renovo would be my choice.
For mohair.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I clean mine with johnsons baby shampoo a few times a year and then reapply fabsil waterproofer to stop it soaking up stains.

That's interesting, got baby shampoo so may give that a try tonight!

I imagine the baby shampoo is very neutral and leaves nothing behind so a good base for the next step?

I've tried a few different products over the last 15 years of fabric roof convertibles. They are all much the same, a shampoo and a proofer. The proofing is important as while the roof should be watertight without it, it keeps out the dirt and gunge that makes your roof grubby and leads to algae and lichen growth.

You need to get it really clean first as otherwise you just seal the dirt in the fabric.

Most proofers are sprays which are best applied with a cloth to prevent it getting on windows and paintwork where it will leave a gooey mark if left to dry. A company called Renovo makes a good product that you can apply with a paintbrush. I found it particularly effective and long lasting.

Hi,

I use the autoglym fabric roof kit, has worked perfectly well, it's a two part kit.

Hope this helps
Cheers
