Have been offered an e-Manage ultimate at a rather keen price
Is it worth the upgrade? and can I copy my existing Maps from the Blue to the ultimate? (the e-manage came with some maps for my turbo kit)

Maps on ultimnate have more cells. I don't think they can be copied across. I'd go for the Ultimate if you can get it for a keen price. It is much better than the blue. If only becauyse you can just connect via USB  s:D :D s:D

My e-manage blue has a USB socket

I'm going to have a play with the two versions of the e-manage software and see what's what

Yes but the other end of the cable is a serial. Or you need a serial-to-usb converter.
Unless someone has already made you a usb to usb cable with in-built serial converter.

The Ultimate is just straight up USB to USB.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Interesting..... The usb cable supplied with mine is USB to USB with a black box in the middle so I'm assuming its got one of those serial to USB adaptor things in the box bit
Can't check at the moment as I loaned it to Carolyn

Super fast response from the chap who sold me the Turbo Kit with the e-manage and the cable I have is a "homebrew that save the hassle of adaptors as its built into the cable"

Yes I believe so. Mind, I've got 2 cables with two different serial to usb chipsets and neither work.
Gifftech do one that definitely works.

Well it sits here gathering dust so if you can make use of it and cover the postage you're welcome to it

I paid 6.00 for it including a postage from ebay a year or 2 back when I needed a com port laptop for a project. Was upgraded with bits from the [strike:ucurhryn]Crap[/strike:ucurhryn] useful parts box so it owes me nothing really

You dont own a computer?
Laptop or desktop?
Is that the norm these days?
I suppose with a decent NAS you wouldnt need the big storage capacity of a desktop.
I have my wifes 160 GB itunes to worry about before i get started on my movie collection.

No we own a pc, but I can't very well drag that outside haha.
Maybe if I made a really long serial cable and hang it out the window hehehe.

And I have a 2TB NAS as well.
So pretty much I've got everything but something I can use for the Greddy software.
