Just picked up my Power FC, using this is it possible to clear / read fault codes without the OBD reader? I don't think the guy who installed the 2zz previous to my ownership hooked it up correctly, as it doesn't seem to read on my fault code reader.

Tbh i thought you lost ODB2 function with a standalone ecu.
I am no expert however.
If you have the hand controller you should have access to all the relevant info anyway shouldnt you?
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

The Apexi loses all connectivity with the ODB port, you need to do analysis the through the PFC hand controller

Cool, thanks! FYI I haven't hooked up the PFC yet, so surely in that case any fault codes wouldn't go to the dashboard warning lights?

I'm now confused as to what you are trying to acheive

If the conversion has a JDM celica ecu then the obd2 won't work anyway IIRC

Essentially, I have a CEL lighting up on the dash with my current OEM ECU, which is JDM Celica so that explains why that doesn't work. I'm wondering how to go about clearing the CEL once the PFC is in.

Well, you have to disconnect the battery to install the PFC, so leave it twenty minutes, and the cel should disappear anyway. You can get a light from the pfc, but that is normally a warning that something is way off! Not just a bit of a warning!

Fault codes are held in the ECU, so when you remove your stock ECU and fit a PFC the fault codes will clear. You will not be able to read fault codes via OBD2 with the PFC.

When its fitted, the PFC will flash the CEL if it detects knock, or injector duty is at a % level set via the PFC settings.

Do you want the fault codes reading on your jdm ecu?

Should be fine dave. Gonna try fitting the PFC later and see if it's got a base map or not.
