k20 swap

been offered a cheep k20, box and wiring loom cheep and priced up the kit off MWR and its only came too £1600, is that right ?

anyone on here done the k20 swap.
the price is with out ecu and lsd.

im just over 3k into doing mine but I bought a whole civic (accident damaged) for £1200, I'll list below the bits I've bought

Civic
Mounts
P&P harness
Selector mechanism
Drive shafts
Clutch kit

I've still got the exhaust manifold to get yet and there's a couple other bits to be modded (fuel, clutch lines, etc)

Oh, and I got raped for import tax too on the mwr bits   s:( s:(

I've budgeted around 4-4.5k all in for mine as I'm going for a lightened flywheel and a couple extra bits and pieces... I'm sure it can be done a bit cheaper though with some smart buying

I've no doubt I'll pull some money back selling all the good bits off the typeR but I'm not counting on that cuz I'm lazy   s:lol: :lol: s:lol:

i'd say put keep £4-5k spare for this swap, at the very least. That will hopefully get you a basic K swap.

For ecu, you only really need an immobiliser-delete kit to run the factory Honda ecu. Otherwise, Hondata Kpro + mapping could see you to about £800-1000 depending on which tuner you go to. Having said that though, a proper tune is the best thing you could ever do to a k20.

Not in my experience but then 2zz swaps aren't without their problems either.

+1 for the k-Swap. I have been using a k20 in my spyder for year and way before mounts etc was on the market, even in stock form, the k20 is far more fun than the 1zz turbo (370hp) i had before.

Cant disagree buddy. But id rather have the 1zz turbo (if mine ever decides to go) than a 2zz n/a
