Well the wife is turning , after the trip down Spain . She said she needed more power and a noisey exhaust lol , I love my wife . So we going 2zz  get that in there with a six speed  then it go supercharger rotrex .  Got a Celica 190 on its way strip the engine total rebuild it .  So if any one wants some Celica parts give us a pm  :-) :-) :-)  as we going along I keep this updated .a couple of pics as it is now

Well the donor has arrived

Shame really as the car is in good condition , but hay my needs are greater  :-) :-) :-)
So spent a  1hr down the garage this morning and started

I have the engine and all the bits I need , so if anyone wants anything pm me .
I had this done as well for the maf just need to weld in to a pipe  :-) :-) :-)

That all for now  :-) :-) :-)
Well wiring harness  all done   :-) :-) :-)   and wrapped

well be busy but the other week end I got down to getting sandras  mk3 done
so gearbox was stripped  lsd fitted 6th extendend and new bearings and 6th gears new from mr t
engine I have had stripped  for a time  so new shells went in and pistons

right the shells if you keeping standard you have to get the number of the  rods

so that all got put back together  head was sent away to have it skimmed polished all the casting marks and had the the vavles 3angle cut  and then all the tappets redone lovely job .lol
so got new chain kit inc vvti gear and uprated oil pump gears as well

ended up with this

a bit more  got done
new fan belt and phew other parts and got gearbox and the modified loom on

then it got put in the car  using the modified  engine mount  you cant use the mount on the drivers side

well a 2hrs later we was at this stage

just need to sort out air filter piping and plug in the ecu and program the keys  in to it
so we need a maf adapter so sorted this on a 3d printer in abs plastic  and you get this

so then we fitted that all in car with a carbon cda  and refit battery  we get this now nearly there modified the plug cover have to know what engine you got in it

well we run it in  for some miles  then round 2 rotex supercharger going in  lol
parts needed

bridge mount for drivers side
lift wiring  1plug for oil pressure 1plug for lift soliond
blanking plugs for water hoses 2x 8mm 1x 2mm 1x 21mm
core plug 27mm if use the celica box casing
6speed mr2 gearbox for all parts,or buy bits from mwr or toyota
swap header or custom made exhaust
maf adapter  or cut the air box up

What steering wheel is that? Is the rim thicker than a normal MR2 wheel?

Thanks

Looks like a very workmanlike job.

I just know that I am going to be shot down!
But please tell me why I can see "Yamaha" on the engine?

YOU WOT  Ha ha a lot pep say that when there on engine stands at work

Toyota commissioned Yamaha to design the 2ZZ-GE, based on Toyota's ZZ block, for high-RPM operation and producing a power peak near the top of the RPM range. The high-output cam profile is not activated until approximately 6,200 rpm, (lift set-points are between 6,000-6,700 rpm depending on the vehicle) and will not engage until the engine has reached at least 60° celsius (140° fahrenheit.) The Toyota PCM electronically limits RPM to about 8200 RPM via fuel and/or spark cut. The "lift" engagement and the engine redline vary by application. Lotus 2ZZ-GEs are rev limited to 8500 RPM, for example, whereas Celicas were rev limited to 7900 to 8200 RPM in North America, depending on the model year. The first Japanese versions were rev limited to 8600 rpm with a peak of 190 hp. Consequently, it is impossible to "over-rev" the engine with the throttle alone; a downshift from a higher gear must be involved. A typical "over-rev" can damage the oil pump, commonly disintegrating the lobe ring, resulting in damage , The oil pump is the Achilles heel of the 2ZZ, though incidents are rare and usually occur due to fault of the driver. Even the briefest period of oil starvation is usually fatal to this engine design

Yamaha have worked with toyota for over 30 years, they worked on the legendary 4AGE as well and they contract out engine work to all kinds of people. They're the boss when it comes to head design!

yep toyota do the economy engines and yamaha sort out the performance side of things usually,3sgte is yamaha too,but strangely there is no yamaha badging on the daddy of all toyota engines that i am working on just now,,2jz is all toyota doesn't need great head design though i suppose as it has cc's and turbos, but they might have helped with the later vvt 2jz
